A subtle connection Being aware of the subtle relationship between the happenings in our own lives and the movement of the planets in the sky is not something easy. However, observing the parallel between the transits of the planets in one´s Natal Chart and the happenings in this person´s life is an exceptional way to bear out this not so easily noticeable connection.
When I was 26, my Dad died. It was 1996 and Pluto was in transit in Sagittarius, opposing my natal Sun in Gemini, an aspect that always represents a deep change due to some kind of loss. This aspect also refers to a male figure. Well, my father´s death was a great loss which dragooned me into sorting out several things in my own life. It is impressive, isn´t it? Let me tell you a little bit more about the subtle connection between the movement of the planets in the sky and strong changes in my life.
The first turning point I remember took place when I was fifteen, during my first year in high school. At that time, Pluto was in transit squaring my natal Moon. Neptune was opposing the natal Venus and, to top it off, both Saturn and Uranus were in my seventh house opposing my natal Sun in the first house. Well, it was time to promote deep changes and to become a new person. As everything else in life, these transformations are quite ambivalent since they have one direction which is aligned to our essence and another which is not. Unfortunately, I chose the wrong way and a period of lack of emotional confidence begun.
When the second turning point was about to happen I was quite out of my path. So, I got farther from my essence as well as from my mission in this existence. I under went a completely metamorphosis, from my wardrobe to my professional life. It definitely was a period full of ups and downs as a result of not living according to my essence. Everything happened when Pluto was in transit in the seventh house, opposing to my natal Sun in the first house.
A few years later, the third turning point was announced by Saturn in transit squaring both Pluto and Uranus. At the same time, Jupiter in transit squared the natal positions of Saturn, Mercury, Neptune and the Sun. Jupiter was also in conjunction with Pluto and Uranus. It was amongst this melting pot that I had one of the most incredible experiences. At that time, several things different from what I had planned started happening. As a consequence, I was not only coerced into transforming my attitudes towards my life but I was also inevitably required to face my essence at once.
The starting point of this whole metamorphoses was my marriage. Counting on the emotional support of my husband, I gained enough confidence to initiate the changes I wanted to do in my career and in my life. However, the process of transmutation was not complete. On the contrary, it had just begun. The following year, Uranus in transit squaring both Neptune and the Sun as well as Neptune in transit squaring the conjunction of Mercury and Saturn completed the work the planets had started in the previous year. I gave up a successful-but-not-fulfilling career as media consultant for good in order to study Astrology.
Not only my life style but also my personal values changed from that moment on - my wardrobe, interests, hobbies and goals. However, the most precious transformation happened inside of me - I had finally got in touch with my self. Actually, I have been working hard on this since then. In spite of the difficulty of conquering my sense of self, it has been an extraordinary and worthy experience.
